Holiday dance party
DJ Zerowe, DJ Chi and Warsaw will provide the music for Dance Santa Dance in The Signal at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Tickets for the holiday dance party are $15 in advance, $20 at the door if any remain.
A Yacht Rock Revue concert is a trip down memory lane to the late ’70s and early ’80s: soft-rock music, bell-bottom jeans, polyester shirts, sing-along hits performed with glorious vocal harmony and lots of sax.
From Hall & Oates, Kenny Loggins and Michael Jackson to one-hit wonders like “Brandy'” and “Baby Come Back,” YRR brings stadium rock energy to the music from your dentist’s office. Hundreds of songs keep audiences guessing what’s next.
Yacht Rock Revue sails back into Chattanooga for a gig at The Signal on Friday, Dec. 7.
Yacht Rock Revue popularized a genre that was a guilty pleasure when the group played its first show as a basement bar band in 2007. Fast forward to 2018 and Yacht Rock has a dedicated SiriusXM channel and sold out Atlanta’s 6,500-seat Chastain Park Amphitheatre.
A national tour partnership with Live Nation and the SiriusXM Yacht Rock Channel has the band primed to reach a record number of soccer moms in 2019.
The band has moved beyond the “tribute” category by regularly joining their heroes onstage: John Oates, Eddie Money, Little River Band, Pablo Cruise, Gary Wright, Robbie Dupree, Matthew Wilder, Juice Newton, Ambrosia, Starship, Bobby Kimball of Toto, Jeff Carlisi of .38 Special, Steve Augeri of Journey and Bill Champlin of Chicago.
The guys have developed a signature style with spot-on renditions, refreshing comedy and energetic stage presence. Their shows have received accolades such as “Best Place to Get Drunk With Your Dad” and “Best Overall Music Act in Atlanta” to “Best Place to Start an Extramarital Affair.” And YRR has been name-dropped by the New York Times, The Guardian UK, Spin, TimeOut New York, Billboard and MTV.com.
