Watch a Man Play a Guitar Duet With a Power Drill

Under normal circumstances, a power drill should be nowhere near a guitar. Most guitars are made of wood—the drill’s natural enemy—so the two rarely mix.

That’s not stopping Pete O’Connell, though. He strapped a spinning gizmo that he calls a “Rhysonic Wheel” to his drill to turn it into a musical partner:

The Rhysonic wheel can be set to multiple speeds, and the guitar can be tuned and positioned to create any kind of rhythm you may want. O’Connell also combines it with a wooden block for some simple percussion. This simple machine is highly versatile and works great with a number of different styles and equipment.

Perhaps if a drill and a guitar can get along there’s hope for the rest of us after all.
