Here’s an early Christmas gift for guitar fans. Australian guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, a protege of Chet Atkins known for his intricate flatpicking style, will return to the Tower Theatre on Monday, nearly two years to the day since his last performance at the venue. This time, Emmanuel will bring some extra six-string firepower in the form of Grammy-winning dobro, lap steel and resonator guitar player Jerry Douglas, known for his solo albums and sideman work with Garth Brooks, Elvis Costello, Dolly Parton and countless others. Both artists are supporting new albums: Douglas released “What If” in 2017, and also appeared on Emmanuel’s latest album, this year’s “Accomplice One,” a typically loose and wide-ranging set that also finds Emmanuel collaborating with Jason Isbell, David Grisman, Jorma Kaukonen and more.
Tommy Emmanuel, with Jerry Douglas: 8 p.m. Monday; $34.50, $49.50 or $59.50 plus theater preservation fee (prices increase by $5 day of show); Tower Theatre; 835 NW Wall St., Bend; towertheatre.org or 541-317-0700.
