The Regrettes’ Lydia Night Responds After Costumed Woman Attacked Her Onstage at Growlers Six Festival

The incident went down at The Growlers Six, a festival curated by Souther California rockers The Growlers.

It was quite a frightening scene Sunday night at The Growlers Six, a festival curated by The Growlers, when a costumed audience member jumped onstage and began to attack The Regrettes’ lead singer Lydia Night.

According to a fan in the audience, the female audience member fought with members of the crowd and security in order to get onstage with Night. The woman can then be seen knocking Night to the ground in a fan-shot video, before bassist Sage Chavis grabbed her arm as security jumped on stage to break things up.

The rest of the band’s set was canceled following the attack.

On Monday (Oct. 30) Night responded on her personal Instagram in a lengthy post. “Being a performer is one of the most vulnerable things you can do,” she wrote. “The last thing I want to worry about during a performance is being in danger in any way. The stage should always feel like a safe space for self expression and art.”

Night continued on to directly reference the attack and thank fans for their outpouring of concern. “Yesterday, someone invaded my safe space in an aggressive manner and that is absolutely not okay. Thank you for all of your concern and love. I am still pretty shocked about what went down, but I will be totally fine. I did not know the girl who attacked me. I was told she was on a lot of drugs and mistook me for someone else. Love you all and I’ll see you next month on the east coast,” the singer said.
