American Fork Symphony plans ‘Fantastic Classics’ fall concert
The American Fork Symphony begins it 2017-18 season on Monday with a concert titled “Fantastic Classics.”
The show will incorporate the film score from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” the 2016 fantasy film written by J.K. Rowling. Other classical works from Brahms and Liszt, among others, also will be performed.
“Fantastic Classics” begins at 7 p.m. in the American Fork Junior High School auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 3-18 and $15 for a family pass, available at the door. Seating is first come, first served. American Fork Junior High School is located at 1120 N. 20 West in American Fork.
Cake concert rescheduled
Due to the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas, alt-rock band Cake’s Oct. 4 performance in Salt Lake City has been rescheduled. The show’s new date is Feb. 16, 2018, at the Eccles Theater.
“CAKE and Live at the Eccles extend their deepest condolences to the families and friends of all the victims, as well as the entire Las Vegas community,” said a press contact for the Eccles Theater in a recent press release.
The press release continues, “Tickets for the October 4 show will still be valid at the February 16th show. Refunds are available for ticket holders unable to attend the rescheduled date. Tickets are still available for the Feb. 16 show, and can be purchased at live-at-the-eccles.com.
‘Rock Gods’ come to Eccles Theater
Legendary guitarists Joe Satriani, John Petrucci (Dream Theater) and Phil Collen (Def Leppard) are coming to Salt Lake City’s Eccles Theater on Jan. 16, 2018.
The show is part of G3 Tour 2018, which features the three guitarists playing individual sets and a joint jam session. G3 has been a recurring tour since 1996.
