SecSat music fest to present classic rock, Carnatic fusion concerts on Puducherry on December 8 | Puducherry News

PUDUCHERRY: Bengaluru-based classic rock band Keen Frequency will perform during the monthly music festival christened ‘SecSat’ at the Bandstand on the Beach Road here from 7pm on December 8.

The fest will also include a Carnatic fusion concert featuring violinist Kiran Kashyap and keyboard player Barath Veeragavan from the band, ‘Yaazhi’. The festival is sponsored by the department of tourism.

Keen Frequency, popularly known as KF includes vocalist Elim Pachuau and guitarist Bradley Cotter. The band is known for its high energy vocals with flamboyant guitar riffs. Their bold approach to rock is what makes the band stand out.

KF will present greatest hits selection from legends like Police, Queen, CCR, Led Zep, U2, Bon Jovi, Tom Petty and Aerosmith among others.

Yaazhi will present standard Carnatic fare as a tribute to the musical Marghazhi season. The band will present the mandatory ‘Mahaganapathim’, improvisations on ragas, and compositions by L Subramaniam and Prasanna as well as a few film melodies.

This edition features a mix of both Indian and western music to cater to different tastes. Classic rock will make the young tourists from the metros and the residents here to tap their feet to KF’s musical beat while the Carnatic fusion will enthral the rasikas including foreign tourists.
