Slade and Suzi Quatro are set to rock the ocean wave during a music cruise which sets sail from Newcastle .
The seventies stars will be joining fellow rock music pioneers including The Troggs and Big Country in a cracking line-up that will enable fans to mingle with the legends during a music cruise leaving Tyneside in September.
Tickets are on sale now for Rock The Boat 2017, a seven-night cruise – with ports of call including Aberdeen, Isle of Skye, Liverpool, Dublin and Invergordon – which also promises a nostalgic journey back in time to the glam rock heyday.
The festival out at sea will see bands that have stood the test of time from the sixties onwards take to the stage throughout the week, from Wild Thing stars The Troggs, dating from the sixties, to Big Country who joined in the scenes in the early eighties, adding their own elements of folk with fiddles and bagpipes to the rock melting pot.
The enduring Slade and Devil Gate Drive singer Quatro, meanwhile, were trail-blazers at the start of their careers and continue to pack in the audiences today.
Other favourites on the Rock The Boat bill will be The Manfreds; The Yardbirds; North East-inspired Animals and Friends, and From the Jam. And there will be plenty support acts.
The round-trip Cruiseco jaunt will be on board CMV Magellan which will leave Newcastle on September 2.
The company’s national marketing manager Carolyn Mackley called Rock the Boat the UK’s biggest rock ‘n’ roll festival at sea.
She said: “Guests will experience a luxurious cruise, combined with a star-studded line-up of world-renowned international and British artists.
“This cruise is an unforgettable experience for rock music lovers.”
Besides the live performances, passengers will be able to enjoy the ship’s two dining rooms, two-deck lounge, a “wellness” centre, five bars and nightclubs during the sailing .
Prices, including entertainment, main meals, gratuities, charges and taxes, start from £399 per person for solo travellers willing to be matched with three other music fans to share accommodation for four. An interior twin cabin costs £549 each.
