Rock City Hosts Summer Music Weekends

Summer Music Weekends at Rock City kicks off 10 straight days of entertainment June 30–July 9, and every Friday–Sunday through Labor Day. Enjoy the sweet sounds of summer from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. with live performances by NBC’s The Voice Finalist Amber Carrington, The Old Time Traveler Matt Downer, Highbeams, Tarryn Aimee Smith and Martin & Durham. Birds of Prey Shows are also scheduled multiple times throughout the day, as well as summertime activities and delicious food offerings. 

Indulge in some fresh-squeezed lemonade and grilled corn on the cob, and meet characters dressed from the 1930s as Rock City celebrates the decade it opened to the public 85 years ago. 

Rock City Raptors shows with Wings to Soar have expanded times this summer at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily. This interactive experience features rescued birds of prey flying overhead and strolling through the audience. 

Rock City’s very own radio station WSRC broadcasts live throughout the park with special appearances from regional artists, the all-American music lovers, visitors and kids in an interactive show! Guests can also take a Walking in Frieda’s Footsteps Tour, seeing Rock City Gardens through the founder’s eyes at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily. 

Café 7 is now open seven days a week, 11 a.m.–4 p.m., with extended hours until 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. This outdoor restaurant with an unmatched view features savory food such as shrimp and cheese grits, fried chicken, Seven States burgers, appetizers, desserts and drinks.
