Remarkable Rock is bringing live music sessions to Beverley and they want people come along to get the town rocking.
After success running rock choirs, rock orchestras and music events in Bridlington, Remarkable Rock is coming to Beverley to launch youth and adult rock choirs.
Remarkable Rock attracts crowds of up to 700 at performances in Bridlington and is keen to get people rocking in Beverley.
Musical director Mark Howley says: “Beverley has a great music scene and lots of fantastic choirs.
“Hopefully we can compliment what’s already going on and provide something different.
“Remarkable Rock is not a typical choir – you work with a team of vocal coaches and perform with a live rock band.
“There’s no audition, no formal training or experience needed, no need to be able read music – we use great rock songs and simple and effective harmonies.
“Hopefully we can getting Beverley rocking!”
These amazing acts in Hull City of Culture’s Season 4 have been revealed
Rock music from across the years to the present day, such as music made famous by the likes of Bon Jovi, Coldplay and Radiohead are sung by the rock choirs.
There has been a surge in interest following TV shows such as The Choir with Gareth Malone.
Mark says: “There was a time when choirs had become very uncool and a lot of people were turned off.
“Now, choirs are more popular. We have been running a choir in Bridlington for a couple of years and have 60-plus members.
“Beverley has a great music scene so we now want to expand with choirs there.”
Youth sessions will be open to anyone aged nine to 19, while the adult choir is for anyone aged 16 above.
