A diverse group of local performers will share their amazing talents with rock and roll, jazz and soul music enthusiasts this holiday season, while bringing awareness about key issues involving autism, youth empowerment and anti-bullying efforts, at the upcoming Rock ‘N Roll Jazz and Soul Holiday Jingle Jam Concert, scheduled for mid-December.
The concert event is a collaboration among three charities, two of which provide services and advocacy for individuals and families of people with disabilities, including The DELVIS Sings For Autism Change Foundation, Inc. and Abel 2 Nonprofit. The third charity, Don’t Bully.org, focuses on anti-bullying and youth empowerment.
“The Rock ‘N Roll Jazz and Soul Holiday Jingle Jam is going to be a high-energy, musical extravaganza that the whole family will be able to enjoy,” says James M. LeFavour, board chairman of The Georgia Music Industry Association, executive director of DELVIS Sings for Autism Change and host of the event. “This concert will feature some amazingly talented individuals including DELIVS— Who is NOT an Elvis Impersonator, but rather, “An Elvis Entity”! DELVIS is a 16 year old on the autism spectrum, who truly embodies a “Spiritual Connection” with the late great Elvis Presley,” … “The show will also include the incredible jazz genius of the international songbird, Myrna Clayton, as well as the soulful sounds of Sir Rod the Entertainer PLUS, Michael Rainwater, a 14 year-old piano prodigy.”
The three non-profit organizations decided to come together for this event to not only help bolster awareness of each other’s organizational missions and programs, but to also work towards encouraging positive change and self empowerment among youth, as well as to foster an environment of unity in the community during the joyous holiday season.
Eddie Owen, owner of the Red Clay Music Foundry is an enthusiastic supporter of the work the charities are doing and offered his venue to hold the holiday concert collaboration and fundraiser.”We are pleased to host this event at the Red Clay Music Foundry and, we look forward to doing anything we can to help these organizations with the important work they all do individually as well as collectively,” says Owen. As the original founder of the World Famous Eddie’s Attic, and now, CEO of Eddie Owen Presents (E.O.P.), Mr. Owen has seen some serious musical talent come thru his venues.
