This man broke the world record for playing guitar for more than 114 hours straight to help military families.
Jeff Waschbusch began performing at The Ririe Bar in Idaho to raise money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which serves United States military personnel wounded or injured in service and their families.
“I like raising money for the military personnel,” Waschbusch said. “The military folks need help. They come home and have to spend time filling out paperwork or waiting for help they need. With Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund they receive assistance immediately.”

According to Guitar’s for Heroes Charity Event page, Waschbusch accomplished his goal earlier this month.

“HE DID IT!!!! In the wee hours of this beautiful morning, Waschbusch broke the world record for longest marathon guitar playing!
“Jeff had been playing for 114 hours 10 mins and had slept for 5 hours 20 mins according to his log,” said Devyn Barlow, Owner of The Ririe Bar. “For every hour that he played guitar, he would accumulate 5 minutes of rest time.”

Waschbusch joked that his fingertips were basically made from plastic because he builds up his callouses for important events likes this one.
“I believe it was at 1:07 am this morning. The very last song he played before stopping was Ripple by the Grateful Dead,” said Barlow. “He will be contacting Guinness World Records today.”
The previous marathon guitar session record was set in June 2011 in Ireland for playing 114 hours, 6 minutes and 30 seconds, according to Guinness World Records.
