SUNNYSIDE, Wash. — For 70 years, the Lower Valley Concert Series has brought world-class musicians to Sunnyside, a town of about 16,000 people, and that tradition resumes Thursday.
The 2017-18 series begins with Canadian-born Mediterranean guitar virtuoso Pavlo at 7 p.m. Thursday. It continues Oct. 3 with the Neave Trio, a piano-and-strings group that has played Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. It resumes March 15 with Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes, a classic country music revue featuring Obie Award-winning singer-actor Jason Petty paying tribute to Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and the Carter Family. The series concludes April 29 with Duo Baldo, the comedic musical duo of violinist Brad Repp and pianist Aldo Gentileschi.
All of the shows will be in the Sunnyside High School Auditorium, 1801 E. Edison Ave. Tickets for individual concerts are $15. Season subscriptions are $55, $125 for a family of two adults and two children, and $15 for students 18 and younger. For information visit www.lowervalleyconcerts.org or call 509-786-4952.
