James Burton Guitar Exhibit opens at Artspace | Community

Shreveport guitar legend, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and Grammy award winner James Burton opened his guitar collection to the public in a never-before-seen exhibition at Artspace Friday night.

James Burton opened the presentation by receiving a Buddy Holly model guitar, presented to him by Vince Gill. June 2nd was also declared James and Louise Burton day by the City of Shreveport.

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) presents the two Exhibits as the “ART OF THE GUITAR,” opening, Friday June 2, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Artspace in downtown Shreveport.

The exhibit will be open for the next 12 weeks, and will feature his guitar collection as well as memorabilia from his career.  Additionally, area Guitar Collectors have brought their one of a kind Guitars for display.

James Burton will also be Headlining at the KTBS 3 Independence Day Festival on July 4th.
