Musicians looking to put their names in the record books will descend on Hoboken’s Sinatra Park tomorrow.
Guitar Bar in Hoboken, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, is making its fifth attempt at the world record for the largest band.
James Mastro, the owner of Guitar Bar and a member of The Bongos during the early “glory days” of Maxwell’s, is looking for people to come out and try to make their way into the world record books.
For the past four summers, Guitar Bar has sponsored a world record attempt for the world’s largest rock band. The previous world record was set by the Beijing Contemporary Music Academy in China with 953 people in June 2016.
Guitar Bar is calling upon anyone who plays an acoustic instrument such as a guitar, mandolin or ukulele. “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” will start the night with other songs being performed throughout the night. Whether you are a seasoned musician or someone who is just starting out, there is space for everyone.
Registration for the event starts at 6 p.m. at Sinatra Park with the event starting at 7 p.m. For more information about the event, go to guitarbar.com or email Mastro at email@example.com.
