“Harry Potter” Star Tom Felton Plays Guitar in Prague

Tom Felton used to fly around the Quidditch pitch on a broomstick, but now he just flies under the radar.

The Harry Potter star recently went completely unnoticed in central Prague’s Old Town. And while it can definitely be easy for celebrities to blend into large crowds of locals and tourists in busy cities, Tom was literally begging to be noticed — he was playing the guitar and singing along.

In a video he posted to Instagram on Tuesday, Tom stands in the middle of a wide sidewalk full of people while singing an upbeat song and accompanying himself on a brightly painted guitar. None of the passersby stop or even give Tom a second look, but to their credit, the 29-year-old does look very un–Draco Malfoy–ish in a gray sweatshirt, glasses, and scruffy beard. Apparently, if the world’s most magical bad boy wants to be recognized in public, he’s going to have to put on his Hogwarts robes, slick back his iconic platinum blond hair, and insult Harry, Ron, and Hermione as much as possible.

But Tom, who is in the Czech capital to film Ophelia alongside Daisy Ridley, Naomi Watts, and Clive Owen, appeared perfectly happy to be ignored by the crowds of people pushing past him as he serenaded them. Throughout the video, he maintains a cheerful mood while pacing around the sidewalk and repeatedly chuckles to himself as people look directly at him and then walk away.

Though he’s technically no longer Draco Malfoy, Tom has held tight to his Harry Potter roots. In April, he attended a special screening of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Vancouver while wearing a Slytherin sweatshirt to rep his house loyalty. And in January, Tom reunited with onscreen dad Jason Isaacs to check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios.
