AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – It’s that time of year again and tent after tent line the grounds of the James Brown Arena.
The 19th Annual Kicks 99 Guitar Pull is coming up, and you have to be in a serious frame of mind if you want tickets.
Donna Nail: “I had surgery Tuesday and I’m out here today.”
Tim Strong: “Dedication?”
Donna Nail: “Dedication, of course everyone else had to set everything else up, I’m just allowed to sit in the chair (laughs)”
Some folks have been here since Tuesday and would have been here earlier, but there was this storm named Irma that delayed that.
You may even see little Rosalie Williams out here wandering around. She’s a third-generation camper. Her mom Rachel brought her.
“At the Imperial Theatre, my mother used to take me when I was a little girl. It’s a tradition we’ve kept in our family all these years,” said Rachel Williams.
Make sure you stop by and see the Crème de la crème of campers, the Fowler/Papalski Dwelling. They call it “glamping.”
It’s equipped with three bedrooms and not one, not two, but three bathrooms. There’s a karaoke machine, TV, and I hear they’ve been eatin’ good too.
“Last night for dinner we had steak, lobster tails, and shrimp,” said Rick Fowler.
Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. and it’s four tickets per person, and they will sell out quickly.
