GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – East Carolina University will be hosting a guitar festival once again that features international artists.
The festival begins on Saturday, July 15th and will run until Tuesday, July 18th.
There will be two concerts each day that begin at 4 and 7:30 p.m.
Guitar players from countries as far as Italy will be making the trip to ECU not only play in the concerts, but to teach lessons to anyone interested in learning.
Classes will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and will run until 3:30 p.m. at the Fletcher Music Center on ECU’s main campus.
Youth and young professionals wanting to take lessons will receive about 14 hours of group and one-on-one training with the artists.
This year’s festival features the Cuban American virtuoso Rene Izquierdo and Italian duo guitarists Matteo Mela and Lorenzo Micheli.
Anyone who wishes to take lessons from the guitarists will be granted free admission to every concert during this year’s festival.
The evening concerts will cost $20 for adults and $15 for youth while the afternoon concerts will cost $10 for adults and $5 for youth.
