It’ll be a feast for the senses as Rock the Block returns Wednesday for its third season in Howell.

Billed as a fun, family-friendly festival, the event runs 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and includes live music and food samples provided by local eateries in four locations throughout the city’s downtown.

“Rock the Block has become a signature event for downtown Howell, with each year exceeding our expectations,” said Cathleen Edgerly, Howell Main Street Inc. chief operating officer. “We had an overwhelming response last year…and can’t wait for this year to kick off.

“Our music lineup is as diverse as always,” she added.

The “Best Bites on the Block” portion of the festival provides patrons an opportunity to sample food from a variety of Howell restaurants and businesses.

Admission to the festival is free, but those wishing to partake in samples must purchase a wristband, which is good for one sample at each music venue.

Individual wristbands are $8 in advance, or $10 on event day. A Best Bites family wristband package can be purchased for $25. They’re available from the DDA or at various locations throughout downtown Howell.
