Earth, Wind & Fire, LeAnn Rimes, DNCE: 5 NYS Fair shows to see this week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — This week, we launch into September, but plenty of major music acts should ease that sometimes-painful transition from summer to fall. Catch them all on the New York State Fair’s Chevy Court stage.

1. Earth, Wind & Fire

Since 1969, the legendary groove outfit carved out a path for soul music, blending it with R&B, African, jazz and rock music on their 23 albums. See them perform their countless hits, including “Boogie Wonderland,” “September” and “Let’s Groove.”

The National Academy of Recording Arts & Science bestowed the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award to the band in 2016 – the ninth Grammy Award for the band. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted Earth, Wind & Fire in 2000.
