Cradock, who is 47, formed Ocean Colour Scene with friend Simon Fowler in 1989. He also plays the guitar in Paul Weller’s band, having appeared on all of Weller’s solo records. He began playing lead guitar for ska band The Specials in 2014 and has released three solo albums. TC: “There’s no-one who wields a guitar like Matt Bellamy, for example?”

SC: “I hate him, hate him man. What are they? Muse?”

TC: “What is it about Matt Bellamy or Muse?”

SC: “Don’t know. They’re like a sort of indie Queen.”

TC: “Kasabian?”

SC: “I saw them at Sydney Opera House. I like them. They’re really nice people, but I don’t like their songs really.”

TC: “What about Liam Gallagher’s new record?”

SC: “Chinatown’s nice. Yeah,it’s good. His voice is good. Words aren’t great, but I don’t know if Liam wrote them. I don’t think he did. I think Simon Cowell wrote them.”
