FRESNO, Calif. – A Southwest Fresno man is making a desperate plea for the return of his stolen 1960 guitar.
Buddy Lewis has had the guitar since he was 19-years-old which is about 40 years. He last saw it in his garage Saturday evening. On Tuesday, he noticed it was gone.
Buddy Lewis played a song about forgiveness at a time he feels wronged.
“It’s priceless to me, it is, hasn’t hit me yet,” he said.
Lewis said sometime this week, someone came into his garage and stole his rare 1960 Sunburst Fender Stratocaster. While the family didn’t want to shrae how much it’s worth, we checked online and have seen the price range from $2,000 to $14,000 for similar types of guitars.
“It means a lot to me, I’ve played it just about every night,” said Lewis.
He’s performed many times and each week plays in a church band.
“It was my best friend,” Lewis said. “I would be gone for a week. I’d go see my guitar first. I loved it.”
He and his wife Roxy want nothing more than to have it back.
“We just want the guitar back,” said Buddy’s wife, Roxy Lewis. “No questions asked.”
“I forgive you, I’d just like to have my guitar back,” said Buddy Lewis.
Forgiveness from a man who is separated from an instrument near and dear to him.
“If you know of my guitar, please give it back to me, please.”
Anyone with information on the stolen guitar is asked to call the Fresno Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP.
