GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – Some participants are calling the 22nd annual East Carolina University Summer Guitar Festival “classical guitar heaven.”
The festival offers classical guitar classes and concerts through Tuesday.
Organizers say the festival has inspired many imitators, but few others are as inclusive.
At ECU on Sunday, guitar players of all ages could be seen playing side by side.
“I’ve seen young students evolve and grow… who came to this event at a young age and became, eventually, fellow colleagues,” said Elliot Frank, the festival’s founder.
There are concerts for the public each afternoon and evening.
An Italian guitar duo known as “Soloduo” took to the stage at the Recital Hall in the Fletcher Music Center at 7:30pm Sunday.
Tickets were $20 for adults and $15 for students.
